Rosedale was built between three ravines, all of which have been preserved as parkland. Rosedale is one of Toronto’s wealthiest neighbourhoods. Residents include prominent entertainers, politicians, sports stars, and business figures. Ken Thomson, Canada’s richest man, lived in Rosedale until his death in 2006. This leafy neighbourhood offers unbeatable price and privacy just outside the Downtown area.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Rosedale offers sophisticated restaurants, yoga studios, fresh produce markets, and flowershops. Terroni is a highlight of the local dining scene. This chic Italian eatery offers great food served in a stylish setting. The indoor dining rooms are ideal for lunch meetings, family dinners, and dates. Terroni’s rooftop terrace offers captivating views of the Toronto skyline. You can also stop by the lively bar for a cocktail. Other local favourites include the elegant French-Mediterranean bar and restaurant Sorrel and the Moroccan-influenced French bistro Avant Gout. Nadège Patisserie is the neighbourhood go-to for freshly baked items. This Parisian-style boutique bakery offers melt-in-the-mouth croissants and other pastries plus delicious cakes and macarons.

WANT Apothecary is a two-story clothing boutique with a curated collection of premium menswear and womenswear. The shop stocks everything from the WANT Les Essentiels collection alongside selected pieces from international fashion brands such as Commes Des Garcons, Fleur Du Mal, and Xu Zhi. Rosedale is also within a 20-minute walk of Yorkville’s Mink Mile, which is Toronto’s premier high-end shopping street.

Evergreen Brick Works is an innovative community eco-education project housed within a repurposed brick factory. Evergreen Garden Market at Evergreen Brick Works offers Toronto’s widest selection of native Ontarian flowers, plants, and trees. Evergreen Garden Market also sells locally produced foodstuffs, seasonal products, home décor items, and a range of games and toys for kids. Evergreen Brick Works Farmers’ Market is held each Saturday year-round. This is the largest farmers’ market in Toronto, featuring around two dozen vendors selling all manner of seasonal produce. Summerhill Market is a great place to pick up gourmet groceries and the finest quality prepared foodstuffs.

Things to Do

Mooredale House is a community centre with sports clubs, day camps, a pre-school, and a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. In addition, Don Valley Brick Works has a lush greenspace featuring meadow and forest areas, an off-leash dog park, three ponds, and multiple trails for biking, hiking, and running, and The Rosedale Ravine Trail is a hidden forest nature trail located directly off of bustling Yonge Street. This blissful nature trail runs for around five kilometres in a U shape. Rosedale enjoys close proximity to Toronto’s downtown core. Rosedale’s Line 1 subway station and other transit lines make it easy to travel to other areas of the city.
