In the 1960s, Yorkville was a famous bohemian enclave with many celebrated folk singers living in the area. Throughout the second half of the 20 th century, it evolved into one of Toronto’s most refined and desirable neighbourhoods. The area has an abundance of upscale shops and restaurants. There are also plentiful employment opportunities, with offices of organizations and corporations such as Canada Post, IBM Canada, Paramount Pictures, MTV Canada, and the Retail Council of Canada.

Yorkville is Toronto’s premier shopping and dining destination, with an endless choice of upscale eateries and trendy fashion boutiques. Yorkville’s retail options are just as extensive and high-quality as its dining scene. Luxury menswear specialists Holt Renfrew on Bloor Street is an outstanding fashion retailer with an excellent personal shopping service. Chanel’s flagship three-story store on Yorkville Avenue is one of the French fashion house’s largest locations in the world. Gucci and Hermes each operate large flagship stores on Bloor Street. Other premium brands with stores in the area include Burberry, Ermenegildo Zegna, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Tiffany & Co., and many more. Things to Do

The Royal Ontario Museum is the largest museum in Canada. The ROM’s incredibly extensive collection includes ancient artifacts, global artworks, and natural history exhibits with dinosaurs. The Gardiner Museum has an impressive collection of ceramics spanning thousands of years of human civilisation. Other Yorkville cultural attractions include the Toronto Reference Library, which features five floors of books covering every topic imaginable.
